Wondering how to make a website ?

Have you ever wondered what actually do we need to make a website ? Don’t you, sometimes, feel tempted to make a website of your own ?

Of course, this requires some money as well as some dedicated work! Launching a new website  is no big deal and even a 12th standard student can do that! Yeah, of course if you’ll go with designing the whole website on your own, that will require strong working knowledge of few languages like HTML, CSS, PHP etc and will also need loads of hard work!

But if you are smart enough to design the whole website on your own, then you probably don’t need to read this article because this article is written to target those users who feel tempted to have some space and name on the web but don’t know how to get one or they just feel scary to give it a try because they either don’t know any language like HTML, CSS, PHP etc or don’t know that these things aren’t a MUST for launching a website.

Well, for making ( at least for launching ) a website you don’t really need to be professional ,even one who doesn’t know the “H” of HTML can make a website but basic idea about these languages is always a big plus -You will be able to optimize your site in a better and effective manner if you have the basic idea about these languages.

What do I need to do to launch a website :

Here are few points, that will give you the basic idea about what actually we need to do to launch a website :

1. You first need to buy a domain name from any domain registrar ( or you just need to register any domain like www.tabish.co.in ). The money you need to pay to the domain registrar depends on the domain name (  e.g .com costs more than .in ) and the registrar you chose to buy from! Your domain cost varies from registrar to registrar.

2. Once you get a domain registered, you got an address on the web. Mind it, it’s just an address and nothing else. At this point of time, no one will be able to access your site from anywhere unless you host your website. To host your website, you need to use a hosting site, either paid ones or the free ones – it depends on your need!

3. Once you have a domain name (e.g. www.tabish.co.in ) with a web hosting, all you need to do is to set your name server which is given to you by the hosting site ( looks like ns1.examplehost.com and ns2.examplehost.com ) on the the domain registrar settings panel.

4. Access your cPanle ( or the admin panel ) with the id and password which will be given to you by the web hosting site, where  you register for hosting your website,  visit the public directory and upload your content either by using filezilla ( ftp client ) or by following the instruction given to you by the hosting website.

5. You can either design your own templates or can use any free templates available for websites. There are lots of websites which offer you free website templates. You can either use them directly or can modify according to your need. If you want to do blogging, you need to install a blogging s/w in the public directory of your website. There are lots of blogging services including  wordpress that offer you free service for blogging!
